A&S HVAC, Inc., is seeking a skilled and dependable HVAC/R Commercial & Residential Service Technician to join our Service Department. Our work primarily focuses on diagnostics, repair, service, and preventive maintenance for a wide range of residential and commercial HVAC/R systems, with occasional installation support as needed. You’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of equipment, including ductless mini-split systems, boilers, furnaces, heat pumps, rooftop units, split systems, and commercial refrigeration equipment, allowing you to continually build and expand your technical expertise.

- Diagnose, service, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on residential and commercial equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and implement effective solutions
- Inspect systems for proper operation, safety, and efficiency
- Test and verify system performance after service or repair
- Replace defective components such as motors, compressors, capacitors, belts, and controls
- Complete invoices, service reports, work orders, and documentation
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly with customers
- Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism on job sites
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a company vehicle
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency service calls
- Assist with some installation work when required, but the primary focus remains service and maintenance
- 2+ years of HVAC/R service experience preferred
- EPA 608 Certification required
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of electrical circuits and refrigeration systems
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass all required background screenings and maintain a clean record to work in regulated environments such as colleges, universities, and daycare centers
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions, as well as in attics, on rooftops, in basements, and in crawl spaces
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently
- Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork skills
- Experience servicing ductless mini-splits, boilers, furnaces, rooftop units, heat pumps, split systems, and refrigeration equipment
- Strong electrical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Experience optimizing HVAC/R system performance
- OSHA certification (a plus)
- NATE certification (a plus)
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new HVAC/R technologies, equipment, and industry best practices

- Assist HVAC technicians with the maintenance, service, and installation of heating and cooling equipment
- Carry tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites
- Clean condenser and evaporator coils
- Replace air filters and belts
- Clean and maintain work areas before, during, and after service
- Load and unload company vehicles
- Help install ductwork, thermostats, and HVAC equipment
- Learn the proper use of HVAC tools and testing equipment, as well as industry best practices
- Follow all company safety procedures and job site requirements
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous, respectful customer service
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently while working as part of a team
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred
- Ability to pass required background screenings and maintain eligibility to work in regulated facilities, including colleges, universities, schools, and daycare centers
- Ability to lift to 75 pounds
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, as well as in attics, on rooftops, in basements, and in crawl spaces
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable

- Mechanical aptitude is a plus

As an HVAC Installer, you will be responsible for installing, replacing, and commissioning residential and light commercial heating and cooling systems. You will work with a variety of equipment, including central air conditioners, heat pumps, gas furnaces, boilers, ductless mini-split systems, rooftop units, and related HVAC components. Our installers are expected to complete each installation safely, efficiently, and in accordance with manufacturer specifications, local codes, and A&S HVAC’s high standards of quality.

- Install residential and light commercial heating and cooling systems.
- Install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, ductless mini-split systems, rooftop units, thermostats, and related HVAC equipment
- Remove and replace existing HVAC equipment
- Install refrigerant piping, condensate drains, venting, ductwork, gas piping, and electrical connections as required
- Start up newly installed systems and verify proper operation
- Ensure installations comply with manufacturer specifications, building codes, and company standards
- Verify proper airflow, refrigerant charge, and overall system performance before completing each installation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding installation progress and system operation
- Educate customers on the basic operation and maintenance of their new HVAC system
- Complete installation documentation accurately and promptly
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of HVAC installation experience preferred
- EPA Section 608 Certification is preferred
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass required background screenings and maintain eligibility to work in regulated facilities, including colleges, universities, schools, and daycare centers
- Ability to lift to 75 pounds
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, as well as in attics, on rooftops, in basements, and in crawl spaces
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read installation instructions, wiring diagrams, equipment specifications, and technical documentation
- Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork skills
